Calgary Wood Composite Decking

At The Exteriors Group, we specialize in composite decking. The two types we mostly work with are Fiberon® and Trex®. Composite wood decking gives you the look of real wood with a waterproofed sealed surface that is scratch resistant and will last so you can enjoy your outdoor space for years to come.

Composite decking is made by combining wood with PVC, vinyl, or other plastic products. This material is then pressed, coloured, and moulded to resemble wood decking boards.

Benefits of Composite Decking

Composite decking eliminates the need to re-stain or re-paint your deck every couple of years. It’s maintenance-free so you can enjoy your deck instead of creating another job to do during our short summers.

Composite wood decking is made from recycled material, so it’s good for the environment. It costs more than wood initially, but over it’s lifetime it will save you money. It also lasts more than 25 years, at least 10 years longer than a well-maintained wood deck.

Fiberon® Composite Wood Decking

Fiberon® offers seven decking options in a variety of colours and wood grains, in different profiles, and at different price points. This gives you a lot of flexibility in designing your custom outdoor space.

The company is very innovative. It is responsible for the first multi-tonal and embossed decking boards, the first hidden fastener system, and the industry’s first stain and fade warranty for capped composites.

Trex® Composite Decking

Trex® has been offering composite decking since 1996. Its products have a protective shell and a deep wood grain and are made of 95% recycled materials. Trex® decking comes in more than 12 colours and the company offers three grades of decking, one for every budget.

All Trex® decking and railing products offer a 25-year limited residential warranty against material defects. High-performance lines add an additional layer of coverage with a 25-year limited residential fade and stain warranty.

Vinyl Decking

Vinyl decking provides long-lasting waterproof protection. It’s an alternative to composite decking and is great for elevated decks.

We install vinyl decking with a membrane has built-in UV resistance and mold and mildew inhibitors. The decking comes in a broad range of colours and patterns and it can be coated if it fades beyond what is desirable to refresh its appearance.
